Philips Design awarded four 2010 China’s Most Successful Design Awards

Eindhoven, the Netherlands – During the November 5 Shanghai awards ceremony, the jury honored Philips with four awards for designs that are most successful in the Chinese markets. The winning designs were judged with an all-encompassing view, from concept to its commercial outcome. “We are delighted with this confirmation of Philips Design’s understanding of the needs and aspirations in local markets,” says Stefano Marzano, Chief Design Officer Royal Philips Electronics.

Chameleon Rice Cooker is a computerized rice cooker especially designed to meet Chinese cooking needs. Although the core function is still focused on rice, the cooker has the capacity to cook around 30 different menus.. The step by step program with visual and audio guidance is able to enhance user experience in daily cooking. The Chameleon Rice Cooker has also received an iF Design Award China this year. Fidelio Docking Speaker’s architecture enhances sound performance and radiates sound quality. To ensure an excellent level of clarity, the sound design is based on true stereo architecture with isolated acoustic chambers. The Fidelio Docking Speaker has also received a red dot award for product design and a iF Design Award China this year.





GoGear LUXE is a chic digital audio player that fastens as an accessory and switches from music to calls on a Bluetooth mobile phone - and displays Caller ID - with one touch.


               Novallure LED Candle is designed to be seen. Its performance is matched by a cool, streamlined styling. What makes the design of the LED candle innovative and different from other LEDs is the retrofit candle shape and its bright sparkling and ambient light effect. The LED candle is made specifically for chandeliers and kind-like luminaires.It replace incandescent candle lamps with similar or better beam performance at a significantly lower power wattage, which helps the user to comfortably transit from traditional technology to advanced LED technology. The Novallure LED candle has also received a red dot award this year and the silver HKDA Asia Design Award in 2009.
