Eindhoven, the Netherlands – Visitors to this year’s Dutch Design Week 2010, in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, will have a chance to visit Philips Design. And for the first time the Philips Design Probes projects ‘Fractal’ and ‘Food’ will be on display to the public, offering visitors to the Dutch Design a unique experience.
Design for today and tomorrow
From October 23-31, Philips Design will showcase a selection of awarded products at its headquarters in the Witte Dame. On a yearly basis, over 50 awards worldwide are given to Philips’ designs. In the reception area of Philips Design a number of award winning products will be shown. The Robust collection - nominated for ‘Erkenning Goed Industrieel Ontwerp and ‘Dutch Design Award’ - will be amongst the exhibited products.
At the same location, Philips Design will demonstrate its Design Probe projects ‘Fractal’ and ‘Food’. This is the first time that both products will be exhibited to such a wide audience. Visitors will be able to view these projects, uniqe to Philips Design, in the Witte Dame at the pre-entrance to the Graduation Show at the Eindhoven Design Academy.
Past tense, future sense
During the Dutch Design Week, visitors subscribing to Philips Design’s newsletter, ‘new value by Design’ will receive a personal copy of the award winning book ‘Past tense, future sense’, covering 80 year of design heritage at Philips.
Energy for the mind
Philips Design creative specialists will be holding a number of lectures, one each week night from 26-29 October, in the Auditorium of the Witte Dame, to share their insights and unique people-ficused design approach. The topics that will be presented are:
- Experience design for children’s healthcare
- Probing the future – design and the culture of innovation
- Ambient experience now boarding at Schiphol
- Strijp-S, creating a public lighting experience
