Philips PicoPix Projectors, designed by Philips for Sagemcom, awarded by China's Most Successful Design Awards and iF Design Awards

Eindhoven, the Netherlands – Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI)  is proud to announce that the PicoPix Multimedia Projector* received a China Most Successful Design Award 2011 and the PicoPix Notebook Projector** received an iF Product Design Award 2012. Both products, brand licenced to Sagemcom, have been designed by Philips Design. The PicoPix Multimedia Projector is one of the nine Philips products that have been awarded in the China’s Most Successful Design Award competition in 2011 and the PicoPix Notebook Projector is one of  the 31 Philips products that have received an iF product design award 2012.  

 

 

 

The user can navigate the PicoPix Multimedia Projector’s onscreen menu intuitively by using the integrated keypad on the top surface. The black piano gloss finishing contrasts with the dark chrome accent elements enhancing its overall sophisticated appearance.

 

 

 

With the PicoPix Notebook Projector being exceptionally compact in size, it fits perfectly into any notebook case or bag, making it an ideal solution if you are often on the go. There are no knobs and buttons on the product itself, only a small lens adjustment weel on the top making it an ideal plug-and-play solution. The brushed metal and metal chrome details give it the elegant, high quality precision look and feel.

 

Winning these award is recognition of good design for both Philips and Sagemcom.

China’s Most Successful Design Awards
China's Most Successful Designs Awards seeks to honor the top international designers and enterprises for their designs that are most successful in the Chinese market. Designs are judged by looking at an all-encompassing view of the design from its conception to its commercial outcome. The competition is organized by Shanghai Industrial Design Association and Shanghai Creative Industry Center. The awards are handed out during the awards ceremony on November 4th in Shaks Pavilion in Shanghai, China.

 

iF design awards

As "seal of good design", known throughout the global world of design and beyond, the iF product design award honors outstanding achievements in design. An internationally renowned jury, consisting of 44 design experts, have engaged in a critical discussion and debate to select the winning products. Out of 4,322 entries submitted by 1,605 participants from 48 countries, the jury of the iF product design award has selected their 1218 favorites as the best designs for 2012.

 

All prize-winning products will be presented at the iF design exhibition in Hanover, Germany from March 6 until the 10th, 2012 and in Hamburg the second half of 2012.
