Many researchers have also received recognition by their peers at the world’s most prestigious scientific and technical organizations. 2021 Awards

 

5G Connected Ambulance Computable Award 2021

January, 2021

 

The 5G Connected Ambulance project received a Computable Award in the category 'Digital Innovation'. In the Connected Ambulance project, a consortium consisting of Philips, GGD Brabant-Zuidoost, the Catharina Hospital, Ericsson and Vodafone are exploring the potential of 5G for healthcare through improved connectivity and digital technology.

ICMG Best Digital Architecture in Healthcare Award for HealthSuite Reference Architecture

November, 2019

 

The ICMG Architecture Awards are the most prestigious global award honoring excellence in the Enterprise and IT Architecture.

The Philips HSRA, built around a set of HealthSuite platforms, provides a common framework for integrated Philips and third-party solutions and their integration into ecosystems. It harmonizes common functionality across Philips’ and partners’ products to ensure cohesiveness in the portfolio and consistency in the user experience across all customer touch points. It provides a set of industry-standards based ecosystem federation services and APIs, allowing integration of third-party products at different layers, including user-experience (UX) mashups, workflows, intelligence and data federation.

Philips wins UX Design award for Stroke Communication tool

September 6, 2018

 

Stroke Communication Tool is a mobile application designed to enable faster treatment by providing a hospital-tailored protocol with easy communication- and information sharing among relevant stroke team members during hyper-acute stroke care.

Philips wins two awards at EUREKA Innovation Days for its impact on minimally invasive surgery

May 24, 2018

 

The Philips-led MEDIATE project has won the prestigious 2018 EUREKA Innovation Award in the category ‘Innovations of Tomorrow’. In addition, the MEDIATE project led to a follow-up ITEA project called BENEFIT, received the 2018 ITEA Award of Excellence. Both awards were presented during the ITEA Event 2018, part of the EUREKA Innovation Days.

Tongue Care+ wins Gold Award for Best New Dental Product at UK Pure Beauty Awards

The Philips Tongue Care+ for breath odour management has won the Gold Award for the 'Best New Dental Product' in the UK, during the Pure Beauty Awards on November 4th.

 

National Award for PIC as ‘Best Medical Devices Company’ at the CMO Asia event

On June 24, the Philips Innovation Campus (PIC) received the National Award for ‘Best Medical Devices Company’ at the CMO Asia event in Mumbai, India. These awards are given out by CMO Asia every year for various categories: Healthcare, Branding, Hospitality, Banking etc.

 

European Inventor Award 2016 for MPI

On June 9, the European Patent Office (EPO) showcased the best and brightest in innovation today at the European Inventor Award 2016 ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal. Bernhard Gleich (Senior Scientist)

Jurgen Weizenecker (former Research employee) and their team won the prestigious European InventorAward in the category 'Industry' for their work in magnetic particle imaging (MPI).

 

Innovation Luminary Award for Open Innovation in the category ‘Business and Eco-system re-shaping’

The fourth edition of the annual Open Innovation 2.0 Conference took place in iCapital Amsterdam on May 23rd and 24th 2016. During this event six leaders in innovative thinking received an Innovation Luminary Award. Philips received an award in the category 'Business and Eco-system re-shaping'.

GBCHealth Award for Philips telehealth Mobile Obstretics Monitoring (MOM)

On May 17, GBCHealth announced the winners of the 2016 Women&Girls Business Action on Health Award in Copenhagen, Denmark during the 4th Women Deliver Conference. We are happy to announce that Philips' Mobile Obstetrics Monitoring (MOM) received the highest commendation.

Philips Research has won the 2015 Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) Project-of-the-Year Award for Energy and Water

An honor given by ESTCP and the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP), the US Department of Defense's (DoD) environmental research programs.

 

The Magnetic Particle Imaging Technology (MAPIT) consortium has been decorated as one of only three ‘Outstanding Projects’ by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research

‘EnLight’ project for intelligent, energy efficient lighting systems receives 2014 ENIAC JU Innovation Award

November 27, 2014

 

EnLight– Energy Efficient and Intelligent Lighting Systems – developed innovative solutions to exploit the full potential of Solid State LED Lighting for energy efficient and intelligent lighting systems, yielding energy savings that go far beyond what is possible by simple retrofit lighting applications. Philips Research has played a key role in this project with regards to the system architecture and the system integration of the demonstrators.

Presenting at the ERC "Best of the Best": Pulse detection via PPG

October 26, 2013

 

A team from Philips Research’s Patient Care Solutions department presented the industry’s first-of-its-kind pulse detection via photoplethysmography (PPG), as investigated in a pre-clinical study, at the European Resuscitation Council symposium’s “Best of the Best” session. The project was one of the only two abstracts selected by an independent jury of international experts out of the hundreds submitted to the ERC, to be presented at the “Best of the Best” session of the annual congress.

 

Philips Research’s paper on self-care for heart failure patients is Top 5 downloaded

An article published by Mariana Nikolova-Simons, Senior Member Research Staff from the Clinical Decision Support & Solutions group in Research Briarcliff was one of the top five downloaded articles of the Heart & Lung Journal in 2013. Entitled “Nurses’ strategies to address self-care aspects related to medication adherence and symptom recognition in heart failure patients: An in-depth look”, Mariana had co-authored this paper with Tiny Jaarsma from the Linkoping University of Sweden, and Martje H. L. van der Wal from the University Medical Center Groningen in the Netherlands.

 

Prestigious IEEE EMBS 2013 Technical Achievement Award for Nicolas Chbat

June 24, 2013

 

Nicolas Chbat, Principal Member of Research Staff received the 2013 Technical Achievement Award, presented by the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS). This prestigious award is presented annually by the IEEE EMBS to distinguished researchers for their stellar scientific contributions. This year, Nicolas shares the award with a biomedical engineering professor from Harvard University.

 

Researchers awarded for contributions to IEEE Standard 802.15.4j-2013 for MBAN

Senior Members Research Staff, Dong Wang and Dave Evans, from PRNA and Cambridge lab have recently received Certificates of Appreciation from the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE) Standardization Association for their technical contributions to the IEEE standard 802.15.4j for medical body area network services (MBAN).
