Camila, Shared Services Center / Human Resources, São Paulo - Brazil |
| My name is Camila, I'm 22 and I've been working with Philips for a little over a month. Although it's not a long time, I already have this feeling that I am definitely enjoying the greatest and most exciting opportunity of my professional life!
I'm working as an intern at a Shared Services / Human Resources Center and it's been a very rewarding experience. I’ve always believed the place where we work should be thrilling, as it's where we spend most of our time. It's supposed to be a place where people can not only do their job, but also do it with the feeling that they are "at home". And Philips offers that.
People here are so friendly that it makes the "teamwork spirit" very clear and stimulating. This is, in turn, reflected in a very positive and happy day-to-day mindset. Everybody helps each other in order to achieve our goals, everybody is welcome to think up and contribute new ideas and nobody minds helping other people out when necessary. This is a company that gives everyone the chance to develop themselves as a person and as a professional.
Philips is also a company that respects every person it deals with (both clients and employees), and treats us all with sense and simplicity.

| Rogier, Philips China Human Resources, Shanghai - China |
| My name is Rogier and I work as an intern at the HR department of Philips in Shanghai. Working for Philips in China has really been a great experience for me and I can't believe that I will be going home next month.
Prior to embarking on this adventure, I studied sinology (China studies) for three years at Leiden University in the Netherlands, and spent one year as an exchange student in Taiwan. Before graduating, I wanted to get some work experience — preferably in my favorite country and "superpower of the future", China. Philips, being one of the top foreign investors in China and employing over 20,000 people here, seemed to be the ideal choice.
This has proved to be true. From the moment I arrived at our office in Shanghai, I felt at home. My colleagues (almost all Chinese) are really supportive and friendly. Over the last three months, I have been working on a variety of assignments, such as improving the Philips China career website, participating in role-plays during management training sessions, and helping out on many other interesting projects. Along the way, I have learned a lot about doing business and Human Resource Management, which will certainly be helpful in my future career.
This internship is also an enriching cultural experience; living and working in a city as vibrant as Shanghai is really fun and interesting, especially when you know the language. China is developing at an unmatched pace and looking towards an even better future. I think it's wonderful to be part of a company that is contributing to that in some great ways.

| Sanmathi, Philips Consumer Electronics, Bangalore - India |
| Hi, my name is Sanmathi. I'm pursuing my Master’s degree in Computer Engineering in SJCE Mysore. As part of my studies, I'm doing a project at Philips Consumer Electronics for ten months.
As a child, I always dreamt of growing big and doing different things. I feel I'm moving in that direction, and have taken the first step towards fulfilling that dream by joining Philips.
The first time I encountered Philips as a consumer was when we brought a tape recorder at home. At the time, I didn't think of the brand name, and I certainly didn't think I would be working for Philips one day. But now that I work here, wherever I go, when I see a Philips product, it makes me feel great!
When it was time for me to think of my M.Tech project, Philips was one of the companies I was interested in. Fortunately, I got an opportunity to do my project in this company. As a trainee, I found there is freedom to choose what we want to do, and how do we do it. We are welcome to put forward our ideas. Seniors here always encourage trainees with innovative ideas. They prefer to be facilitators rather than teachers. It's up to the trainee to choose how they get trained. And in this calm, cool, encouraging environment, I truly have space to think.

| Bao, Philips Research, Eindhoven - The Netherlands |
| As a Master of Technology Design student from the National University of Singapore, I have completed my thesis with Philips Research (Netherlands). The 12 months’ experience has been unquestionably enriching, even if you only consider the broadness and deepness of technology one can encounter in one of the world's largest private research institutes.
Frequent discussions on topics ranging from state-of-the-art IC design to advanced medical imaging have given me a great taste of the frontiers of technology. Within the immense size and power of the research organization, interns can expect freedom to conduct independent research. Constructive ideas are encouraged and respected.
Thanks to easily approachable coaches and helpful discussions with supervisors, openness characterizes the culture at Philips Research.

| Lindsay, Philips Lighting Electronics, Rosemont Illinois - USA |
| This past summer and fall, I interned in the Human Resources department at Philips Lighting Electronics North America in Rosemont Illinois. Typically, internships in the United States last approximately three months, but I have enjoyed my time so much that I have continued to work here even after returning to school.
I am entering into my last year of my undergraduate work at Northwestern University and feel very fortunate to have found Philips. From the moment I came in to interview, the people I met impressed me and these same people have been exceedingly influential in my development. I have been given challenging projects that have improved my understanding of the corporate world, of the company, and of Human Resources. Philips truly cares about every intern and is dedicated to providing a stimulating and supportive environment in which we can learn and realize our potential.
In every way, this internship has been a positive experience and I am excited to see the internship program continue to grow and become more unified. The members of my team — as well as others I have had the pleasure of working with throughout the Philips community — continually inspire me and enhance my future development. For me, this internship has given me the perfect foundation upon which I can build my career and my future.
