If you are an ambitious Marketing professional, qualified with Masters Degree and you have a proven track record of eight to ten years in strategic and/or operational marketing, you could be the person we need to drive our 'growth through innovation' strategy forward.

Philips’ Commercial Leadership Gateway is the fastest way of getting you where you want to be – driving the future. As a successful gateway candidate you will get one-on-one coaching from our top marketing executives, putting you in a leading position to drive Philips’ business from innovation to commercial success.
Philips’ Commercial Leadership Gateway is an application process that culminates in a 1½-day assessment at which you will get the opportunity to learn a great deal more about Philips through presentations and interaction with our Sector CMOs and senior management team members. These programs are organized a number of times each year in Asia, Europe and the USA.

Once you have been accepted, you will be placed in a highly responsible marketing position in one of our sectors. You will manage multi-disciplinary projects and collaborate with development, supply chain and sales departments to turn customer insights into innovative products and real commercial success. After two to three years, you will move up the ladder to even more rewarding international positions in upstream Marketing positions.

At the same time you will benefit from a two-year program of individual coaching from CMOs and other top Marketing Executives within Philips, as well as extensive skills and career development training in our ‘Top Potentials’ program. Through presentations and informal get-togethers, you will have access to Philips’ Board of Management, up to CEO level. By participating in our ‘One Philips’ projects, you will be given a real opportunity to influence the future of our company and the way we do things.

To be successful in the Commercial Leadership Gateway, you will need to demonstrate real leadership qualities. Your profile should reflect personal responsibility and accountability for delivering results and the ability to create a winning mindset by motivating and inspiring those around you. In Philips, you will serve as a role model that others will want to emulate.

You have a thorough understanding of global business environments in Healthcare, Lifestyle or Technology markets and an in-depth knowledge of end-user insights that you can translate into effective strategies for success. You are able to identify new opportunities to grow business, and you embrace these opportunities with the enthusiasm needed to drive them forward to success. In Philips, these are the qualities we need so that we can continually deliver on our brand promise of 'Sense and Simplicity'.
In addition to your Master’s degree qualification, you will need at least five years of relevant marketing experience in B2C and/or B2B environments. It is essential that your experience includes customer facing roles in operational as well as strategic marketing, preferably in an international setting. You have had active involvement in managing people and projects. Ideally, your career has taken you to different parts of the world and made you multilingual (English being one language that you are fluent in).
It’s important that you demonstrate success in one or more of the following areas:
- completion and implementation of effective marketing strategies and plans, including leading the launch activities of a major product introduction;
- identification and implementation of new growth initiatives, new value propositions and/or new business models;
- optimization of organizational capabilities by acting as a change agent;
- realization of real growth in profits and market share over time.
