I went to IESE Business School in Barcelona. Upon graduation, Philips Lighting came to campus for presentation and recruitment. I applied for one of the vacancies. Finally, it took me more than 3 months and several rounds interviews, including a 2-day assessment centre, to get an offer letter landed in my mailbox. Though there were 3 other offers in hands, eventually I chose Philips over the others not only because Philips is one of the best-known multinationals world wide, but in terms of the commitment to China, Philips is absolutely second to none.
Another thing I really take into account is that I will be part of Philips' Management Development Programme and have a rather visible career path. On 1st October 2004, I started my new professional life as Product Marketing Manager at one of Business Units of Philips Lighting in Belgium. The job is very multi-disciplinary and requests lots of interactions, both internally and externally. The things I like the most are, it is all about dynamism, team work and result-driven.
Despite merely 5 months at Philips so far, I am convinced that I have made a right choice.
