Chief Legal Officer and Member of the Executive Committee Corporate responsibilities: Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary After completing his Law Degree, Eric Coutinho joined Philips' Corporate Legal department in Eindhoven in 1979. In 1980 he moved to the legal department of the Dutch sales organisation where he served as the Consumer division's business lawyer. This was followed by a move back to Corporate Legal to serve the global purchasing organisation. In 1993 Mr. Coutinho joined Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions. In 1995 he returned to Corporate Legal to head the Mergers & Acquisitions and Business Support Group, during which time he was involved in various divestments, including Car Systems, Polygram, the Media division and, more recently, Semiconductors. On May 1, 2006, he became Company Secretary and Chief Legal Officer. |
