 We have been focusing on increasing the energy efficiency of our products along with other environmental improvements since 1994. We’ve steadily reduced energy consumption of many products in our portfolio. TVs are one example.
Our EcoDesign standards drive improvements in six Green Focal Areas, including energy efficiency. Plus, Philips Green products meet other relevant and well-known environmental product requirements. As an example, here’s a snapshot of how our TVs stack up against the US EPA’s Energy Star technical requirements.
All of our television models in the US and 90% of the European models meet the Energy Star technical requirements version 3.0. All Philips 2008 TV models exceeded by at least 70% the requirement for standby power consumption to be less than 1 watt. The majority of our television models are exceeding by 85%.
