Back then it was called “designer stubble” and like dancing in the movie Footloose, it was even banned by some companies for being too edgy.

Brad Pitt means many things to many people – to women he’s the ultimate dreamboat, a man who encapsulates rugged handsomeness, untamed power matched with a kind of childish sensitivity and naivety. To men he’s that annoying guy that your girlfriend/boyfriend fancies who sets unrealistic levels of bodily fitness.

Inspired by the heroes of Hollywood, we’ve put together a list of four celebrity looks that we’d recommend this summer…

Ryan Gosling is still retaining the title of the coolest actor in Hollywood, the Drive star’s clean cut look with just a smattering of stubble is a perfect all year round look, especially if you have blonde or fair hair. As Gosling has quite small features his stubble helps attract attention away from these and his short back and sides haircut really helps to accentuate the slimness of his face. This is definitely a good look for men with a skinny build.

One of our favorite things about music is that everyone has an opinion – your dad loves a bit of Bob Dylan, your mom loves Michael Bublé and your sister likes whatever pop song is on the radio at the time.  While we all have our own unique music choices, one thing we can all agree on is that some of the most talented artists in history are facial hair advocates.

Time, it’s one of those things that effects us all. We all grow older and as we age our style changes. When you’re 16, dyeing your hair green for a house party seems like a good idea, but as you get older you start a job, you have children and suddenly that awesome goatee you had when you were 21 doesn’t look as cool as it used to.

Summer is upon us (well it is if you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, which – let’s face it – is the best hemisphere), so it’s time to put those woolly sweaters back in the cupboard and put on some flip-flops, shorts and that Hawaiian shirt you’re too embarrassed to wear for the rest of the year.

The best thing about summer is that it means one thing – holiday time! For us men that means that we can let our hair down for a few weeks and even cultivate cool facial hair if we want to without the risk of our bosses/girlfriends getting mad at us.
