Wayne Rooney (www.Celeb321.com)2011 was a great year for celebrity styles, with John Hamm, Ryan Gosling both giving a great example of how it should be done and then there were also some male celebrity who were shining beacons of how not to groom.
We take a look at some of the worst celebrity grooming mistakes of 2011:
Unconvincing Hair Lines
Perhaps the most talked about male hair this year is that of the world famous soccer player, Wayne Rooney (above). Unfortunately for someone so young, over the last couple of years Wayne’s hairline receded faster than the global economy. This led to Wayne’s decision to undergo hair transplant surgery at the age of 26. The result was unconvincing to say the least and led to Wayne’s barnet being one of the most talked about topics in Europe that week.
For those with a receding hairline like Wayne’s who don’t have the dough for expensive hair transplant operations, the best style advice is to shave your head to a neat short length. Philips has an array of handy tool for doing this that makes trimming your hair an absolute doddle.
Jared Leto (www.fanpop.com)Too Much Color
Jared Leto, the film star and singer in the band 30 Seconds to Mars couldn’t have had a better year in 2011 with his band’s album selling millions and a global arena tour to boot. However this success wasn’t echoed in his grooming choices.
Renowned for his flamboyant dress sense, Jared continued to push the boundaries in 2011, and although we applaud his continuing quest to express himself through his hair, we do agree that at times he takes it a bit too far...
"R-Patz" (www.theimproper.com)Unkempt Facial Hair
Robert Pattinson, the fresh-faced heart-throb of the Twilight series, has cheekbones that most men would kill for or even have extensive surgery to achieve and porcelain skin that would make most dolls jealous. This makes his decision to grow a bushy lumberjack beard all the more strange. It might be that the beard was an attempt by Robert to make himself more incognito when out and about in the streets but all it did was make him even more recognizable. Also, it’s all very well growing a beard but for it to stay looking good they need a certain level of pruning, clipping and care in their upkeep to ensure they stay looking prim and proper.
Ashton Kutcher (www.cityrag.com)Time to Kut the beard?
Another of the facial hair offenders in 2012 was Ashton Kutcher. Ashton is another celebrity known for his clean shaven look and his high defined jaw line. We’re not saying that Ashton shouldn’t have experimented with facial hair, all men should at some stage, but it’s just important when you do grow facial hair to keep it properly.
The result of unkempt facial hair is a look that can only really be described as a bit scruffy.
If you want to avoid looking like the handsome hobos above then why not have a look at the ‘How To’ tab on the Philips Male Grooming site which has some great hints on achieving a number of grooming styles.
