Philips Consumer Lifestyle in Drachten is one of the largest innovation centers of Philips and concentrates the technical know-how of over 1500 technologists into one location in the North of The Netherlands. There are three main sites:

Advanced Technology Drachten

The Advanced Technology Drachten is a cradle of innovation. The development laboratory for future high-tech Consumer Lifestyle products. Its expertise and research activities cover a large number of domains, ranging from acoustics and metallurgy to research into material properties and chemical analyses.

Innovation Domestic Appliances

This site is the product innovation and creation center responsible for the function and product development of small household appliances. Products such as the Philips Senseo coffee machines and the PerfectDraft home draft system were all created by our Lead Innovation Site. Besides these products, the Lead Innovation Site also develops vacuum cleaners, electric kettles, toasters, and fryers. In addition, the site also works on the development of new products in the field of water & air purification, mother & child care and kitchen appliances.

Innovation Shaving & Beauty

This is the development center for shaving, grooming and vital light products. The engineers working in this development center have brought forward best-selling brands such as Arcitec, Bodygroom and the Philips Wake-up Light.
