For Philips Consumer Lifestyle in Drachten we are looking for a Technical Project Manager for the development of pioneering lifestyle consumer products. The successful candidate has experience in the field of mechanical or electronic engineering.

Furthermore, two Lead Innovation Sites develop these into products in the following categories: Domestic Appliances and Shaving & Beauty. Over 600 engineers work continuously on new products in our dynamic, multidisciplinary and international Consumer Lifestyle department in Drachten. Product highlights are the Wake-up Light, Arcitec shaver, the One-touch Espresso Machine and water & air purification solutions
Your job
As Technical Project Manager you supervise product development projects from the initial idea through to the eventual launch. For that purpose you put together a multidisciplinary team, with which you complete the project’s various stages. Your main tasks are:
- Coming up with technical solutions in deliberation with your team
- Analyzing and building on the project proposition and specifying requirements for the project
- Managing boundary conditions and involved risks and taking corrective actions if necessary
- Setting up a review structure that provides optimal insight into the current status of a project
Your profile
First of all, you are a strong leader, creative and analytical. In addition you are a team player and a coach. You have a ‘hands-on’ approach and good communication skills. We would like to meet you if you also meet the following criteria:
- You have a Master or Bachelor Degree in mechanical engineering (preferably) or electrical engineering
- More than 3 years experience in managing international multidisciplinary R&D projects
- It is essential to have a broad experience in pre-development and/or product development preferably with the development of mass-manufactured consumer products. Additional experience in production is a plus.
- Feeling for interpersonal processes; recognising different interests and taking decisions that benefit the project as well as the business
- Ability to motivate your colleagues
