Edwin Paalvast

Edwin Paalvast joined Philips as Chief of International Region in August 2020. In this role he is responsible for the results of all Philips geographies (with the exception of North America and Greater China). He is a member of the Executive Committee.

Edwin joined Philips from Cisco Systems, where he was Senior Vice President Global Specialists, leading a global sales force in specialist areas, including the Internet of Things (IoT), networking, data center, cloud, collaboration, cybersecurity and services. Prior to that, he held a variety of other senior roles, including that of President of Cisco Systems EMEA.
 

Before joining Cisco, Edwin was Partner in the IT practice at Bakkenist Management Consultants, which was later bought by Deloitte Consulting. He started his career in 1987 at TNO, the Dutch Institute for Applied Research, focusing on high-performance computing and applied computer science.

Digitization is transforming the consumer landscape and revolutionizing the way healthcare is being delivered to improve health outcomes at lower cost, enhancing the patient experience and improving the work life of care providers.

Edwin is married with three children. He holds two master’s degrees from Leiden University, one in computer sciences and the other in mathematics, and a PhD from Delft University.
