With over 95 years of design at the company, Philips Experience Design has an incredibly rich history of innovating to improve people’s lives. Since it was first founded in 1925, Philips Experience Design has consistently been a champion of strategic change at Philips. The Philips Museum is an incredible place to discover and learn about the role design has played in the history of Philips. The Philips Museum is in the heart of Eindhoven, literally located where Gerard Philips produced his first light bulbs in 1891. The museum takes visitors on a tour of the company's rich history and delivers an experience where you get to see how Philips constantly reinvents itself through innovative technology. During this Design Talk, Sergio Derks, Lead Curator at the Philips Museum, will lead you through a virtual interactive tour, providing “inside” stories and design highlights in our Philips history. He’ll share details on how Design was born at Philips and the early beginnings of Philips Design in 1925 with Louis Kalff. He’ll talk you through the evolution of the Philips logo and show historical designs, from radios and household appliances, all the way to current day healthcare designs. So be sure to register and learn more about the critical role Design has played in the history of Philips.
