This week the UK’s NHS turned 70. Born on July 5, 1948, the National Health Service was – and still is – a unique project founded on the believe that good quality healthcare is universal and should be accessible to every member of the community. But as the system faces increasing pressures due to growing demand for care and increasing budget and staff constraints it is looking for new technologies that can help overcome these challenges. Sky News recently visited the Philips Innovation Center Eindhoven to see the latest advancements in health technology and spoke with Philips UK Market Leader, Neil Mesher, about how innovation can help the NHS more forward in more sustainable ways.
