Arterial IVUS Tutor is your fast-track to confident peripheral vascular IVUS imaging interpretation. An interactive program designed for health care professionals who want to improve their IVUS eyes. The image interpretation for PAD, AV access and AAA procedures is catered to all levels—beginner, intermediate, and advanced learners.

Based on nearly 20 hours of physician insights gathered globally, the Arterial IVUS Tutor app has been specifically developed to fulfill a significant need in vascular medicine: providing accessible and effective training for interpreting intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) images. This follows the established Venous IVUS Tutor, developed with the American Venous Forum (AVF), which is widely utilized international.
Although IVUS offers significant advancements for arterial procedures, interpreting its images presents notable challenges, and comprehensive educational resources are limited. Leading medical societies—including Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions (SCAI), AVF, American Vein & Lymphatic Society (AVLS), Society for Vascular Medicine (SVM), and Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS)—have emphasized the importance of developing enhanced educational tools to encourage broader IVUS adoption and address difficulties in image interpretation¹. Recent studies confirm these existing gaps, underscoring the pressing need for innovative solutions that support clinicians throughout their IVUS learning and practice.
I believe this app will be a powerful educational resource with real-world cases and detailed imaging, it can really help physicians deepen their understanding and improve patient care.
Developed in partnership with leading medical societies, the Arterial IVUS Tutor app is an interactive, user-friendly platform designed to empower healthcare professionals to master IVUS technology.
Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced learner, the app offers tailored modules for image interpretation related to Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), arteriovenous (AV) access, and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) procedures. Dr. Micah Watts, Interventional Radiologist and key contributor, states “We have dozens of great cases going over the nuances of these cases and teaching points.” Its comprehensive curriculum includes:

Since its debut at VIVA 2025, the Arterial IVUS Tutor app has seen a remarkable increase in downloads, signaling widespread enthusiasm from the vascular community. Jovan Broche, Regional Sales Manager for Philips, shares, “Our new Arterial IVUS app gives physicians an advanced tool to tackle real challenges right from their mobile device. They can invest as little or as much time as needed, progressing at their own pace, building confidence in IVUS and translating new skills directly into improved patient care.”
We have dozens of great cases from peripheral arterial disease, aorta, AV access, going over the nuances of these cases and teaching points… catering to beginner, intermediate, and advanced users.
Experience the next generation of IVUS training by downloading the Arterial IVUS Tutor app from the Google Play Store or the App Store. At present, the app is accessible exclusively within the United States; however, global availability is planned for a future release upon approval.
