Physical inactivity and cardiovascular disease

Physical inactivity is a leading risk factor for cardiovascular disease causing 3.2 million deaths globally. More than half of women living in Europe have insufficient levels of physical activity, which is defined by the World Health Organization as being less than five times 30 minutes of moderate activity per week or less than three times 20 minutes of vigorous activity per week. Being physically active, by playing sports such as football, can help reduce risk for heart disease and stroke.
