Nagaraju Bussa joined Philips Research Asia – Bangalore in 2001 and is responsible for the cardiology clusters there. His work takes him very close to customers in his market.
“I’m responsible for cardiology clusters here. We are trying to come up with solutions that meet the requirements of the Indian healthcare delivery scenario. My current project involves creating the workstation of the future in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This is a fascinating area to work because we are trying to improve the outcome for babies. Research for me personally is very fascinating because we work on the problems derived from the pain points of the end customer. We develop solutions that are useful and innovative for the people who are using them. In India, we are looking at how we can improve the healthcare delivery to a broader spectrum of people and how we can empower healthcare staff for effective clinical outcomes. I joined Philips Research because it is a people oriented company for employees and for society. It is not just a brand I’m working for, also the culture I’m working in is very close to my heart. Working for Philips Research Bangalore offers lots of flexibility in technology and freedom in coming up with novel ideas and solutions for the emerging markets. We cross collaborate with other research labs so we can have a large knowledge base to interact with and realize the solutions. Philips Research is special here because it is one of the very few research-oriented organizations in India. We can fully make use of the knowledge and talent we have in the local eco system to do out of the box thinking and come up with solutions.”
