Philips broadens offering of solutions to help more consumers achieve healthy, sound sleep 

Berlin, Germany – At this year’s Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Berlin, Germany, Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) showcases new products and services that empower consumers to take an active role in managing their health and well-being to get the most out of their days through a better night’s sleep.

Building toward this vision, Philips will showcase two extensions to its growing suite of sleep solutions at IFA 2017, from its latest light therapy technology to its innovations for the more than 100 million people worldwide1 who suffer from sleep apnea.


Philips Somneo

Seen for the first time at IFA 2017, Philips re-envisioned Somneo sleep and wake-up light supports the full sleep cycle, helping to facilitate the most refreshing, natural experience possible. The innovative RelaxBreathe feature and light-guided wind-down helps users fall asleep naturally, with a midnight feature that offers soft light for guidance in the dark. Like its predecessor, the Philips Wake-up Light, Somneo also features a nature-inspired, simulated sunrise that wakes the user up gradually and gently. It is clinically proven to provide a more energetic wake-up in the morning2.


Philips award-winning Dream Family

Philips Dream Family – comprised of the unique open-faced DreamWear mask, nasal and new gel pillows mask modules, DreamStation positive airway pressure (PAP) device, new DreamStation Go portable PAP solution and DreamMapper patient engagement app – is designed to engage sleep apnea patients with one of the most comfortable and effective therapies available. Dream Family works as a connected solution to keep patients engaged in their therapy and linked to their care teams through Philips Care Orchestrator cloud-based patient management platform.

The components of the Dream Family were inspired by feedback from more than 900 patients as well as insights from clinicians who treat sleep apnea. This input combined with Philips more than 40-year legacy in patient-centric, sleep solutions led to the award-winning design of the Dream Family. DreamWear and DreamStation have been honored with awards for excellence in design, including recent iF Design, Red Dot, Good Design Australia and Core77 accolades.
