Philips highlights on-the-go sleep and respiratory solutions at IFA 2017

Berlin, Germany – At this year’s Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Berlin, Germany, Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) showcases new travel-friendly solutions that empower consumers to live the active lifestyle they desire, while receiving the same quality of treatment on-the-go as they would at home.

“The people we serve are always top of mind when it comes to product innovation,” says John Frank, CEO of Philips Sleep and Respiratory Care. “The solutions we’re showcasing at IFA enable individuals with sleep and respiratory conditions to go for a hike, take a day-trip or travel the globe without the compromise of leaving therapy behind or packing bulky equipment.”

Each of the on-the-go solutions showcased at IFA meet applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) compliance requirements for in-flight use1.

Philips DreamStation Go

As Philips’ latest breakthrough in sleep technology, DreamStation Go is the product of nearly 40 years of positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy innovation. At half the size of Philips’ previous generation devices, DreamStation Go delivers the same clinically-proven performance and comfort for reliable, convenient therapy on-the-go. The discreet, slim-profile device weighs less than two pounds and features a built-in power supply that helps to limit the number of components to pack. Philips unique 12mm micro-flexible tubing continues the compact trend across the holistic system, minimizing bulk while improving mobility and comfort. Due to its small size, USB charging port, quiet operation and FAA compliance, users can keep up with therapy even during overnight flight.

Philips InnoSpire Go

The recent recipient of both the iF Product Design Award and International Design Excellence Award,  Philips InnoSpireGo is a virtually silent, handheld nebulizer designed as a fast, convenient, and portable treatment option for the rising population of both children and adults with chronic respiratory conditions like asthma and COPD. InnoSpire Go simplifies the delivery of inhaled medication, offering fast and effective four-minute treatment2, reducing treatment time by 25 percent3. InnoSpire Go features a simple two-part assembly, clinically-proven vibrating mesh technology used in hospitals worldwide, and can be used with all commonly prescribed respiratory medications. Its built-in, long-life battery life offers up to 30 treatments per charge. Weighing just a quarter of a pound, its compact size makes it convenient to carry while walking or to use discreetly on the sideline of a child’s ballgame, so treatment never has to get in the way in the way of life.

Philips SimplyGo Mini

Building on the legacy of its predecessor SimplyGo, the new SimplyGo Mini is Philips’ smallest and lightest portable oxygen concentrator (POC). Designed with the active respiratory patient in mind, Philips’ POC solutions may reduce the need to carry and refill oxygen cylinders. SimplyGo Mini’s smaller, lightweight design, up to 9 hours of battery life, and reliable therapy delivery system help empower patients living with chronic respiratory disorders to remain active and mobile, a crucial element in enhancing quality of life.

“Maintaining an active lifestyle has significant health benefits at any age. These emerging solutions provide hope for people with sleep and breathing disorders who want to live active, healthy and meaningful lives,” said Dr. Teofilo Lee-Chiong, Chief Medical Liaison at Philips. “At Philips, we understand that encouraging healthy life choices is as important as treating unhealthy disorders. We are committed to creating technology and services that facilitate delivery of care, enhance patient experience, improve disease outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.”
