Berlin, Germany – At this year’s Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Berlin, Germany, Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) showcases new products and services that empower consumers to take an active role in managing their health and well-being to get the most out of life.
Different parts of the body have varying skin and hair types, but not all hair removal methods provide solutions to address these. The new Philips Lumea Prestige at-home Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) device has been designed to provide a tailored hair removal solution for all parts of the body, meaning women can experience the feeling of continuously smooth and hair-free skin for up to eight weeks1, and discover their beauty, every day.
Innovative technology developed with leading dermatologists and Philips hair removal experts is featured in the new Philips Lumea Prestige. The IPL device comes with four bespoke attachments with different window sizes, curved shapes and filters, for easy and effective treatment of every part of the body. Like the other Philips Lumea models, the Philips Lumea Prestige uses IPL technology, which uses gentle pulses of light to progressively reduce the re-growth of hair, putting the root into a resting phase. When used every two weeks for an eight week period, the treatment has been shown to reduce hair growth up to 92%, so women can safely experience the feeling of continuously smooth, hair-free skin.
“Philips launched its first at-home IPL hair removal device over seven years ago and has grown to become the number one at-home IPL solution in Europe by continuously delivering innovations that respond to our customer feedback and needs,” says Rianne Meijerman, Business Leader Philips Beauty. “Featuring beautiful technology that delivers real results, the new Philips Lumea Prestige has been designed to address women’s hair removal needs and is faster and more versatile than ever before.”
For added convenience, women can now use the new Philips Lumea Prestige both corded and cordless. Cordless treatment is easier to handle for smaller, or harder to reach areas of the body and corded is better for larger areas. Using the device corded speeds up the frequency of the flashes to once every two seconds, making treatment time 1.75 times faster, meaning women can now treat both lower legs in 8.5 minutes without the need to recharge the device between treatments.
Effective across a wide spectrum of hair colors and skin types, the new Philips Lumea helps women to confidently assess which setting is right for them. The SmartSkin sensor feature on the Philips Lumea Prestige allows women to measure their skin tone by pressing a button, to advise the best setting to work most effectively for them, helping them to achieve their best results possible.
The new Lumea Coaching app is the ultimate partner to the Philips Lumea Prestige. Designed to help women get the most from their device, the app offers women step by step guidance and support so they can feel fully confident about their IPL treatment. Providing a fully flexible, personalized treatment plan for each area of the body, the app enables women to achieve and maintain the best possible results for them.
