Philips Shaver series 9000 delivers the perfect shave in every pass

Berlin, Germany – At this year’s Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Berlin, Germany, Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) showcases new products and services that empower consumers to take an active role in managing their health and well-being to get the most out of life.

As a company focused on improving people’s lives through meaningful innovation, Philips recognizes that when it comes to shaving, men face the same challenge every day – getting as close a shave as possible. Men want a perfect shave but they also want to look their best so that they can feel confident. With the Philips Shaver series 9000, Philips has redefined electrical grooming to create the perfect shaving experience that delivers their closest shave yet, without compromising on comfort, control or choice.

In order to tackle hard-to-reach areas where hairs can grow in different directions, men often have to go over the same part of their face or neck during shaving, causing skin sensitivity and irritation, which leaves them feeling frustrated. Packed with intuitive innovation, the Philips Shaver series 9000 features unique Contour Detect technology, which detects and holds every contour of the face to give men the closest possible shave. The device also includes V-Track precision blades which have been specifically designed to catch and cut hairs effectively.

Unique and innovative Contour Detect Technology

Building on 75 years of heritage in developing new technology Philips has completely transformed men’s experience of shaving, the Philips Shaver series 9000 is the most advanced Philips electric shaver to date. Thanks to its proprietary Contour detect technology, the shaving heads on the Philips Shaver series 9000 flex in eight different directions to detect and follow every contour of the face, for a precise shave that gets up to 20 percent more hairs in a single pass.

“We know that men want the most advanced technology at their fingertips in every aspect of their lives and at Philips we’ve taken this very seriously,” explains John Smith, Business Leader Philips Male Grooming. “Our designers have taken innovation to a new level during the development process for the Philips Shaver series 9000. Thanks to the latest technological advances, men can now experience a perfect shave that leaves skin looking and feeling great – in fact, no other Philips electric shaver cuts hairs closer to skin.”

Additional innovation features include:

  • Philips Shaver series 9000 includes V-Track precision blades, a state-of-the-art shaving system that catches and cuts hair effectively
  • At the touch of a button, the unique SmartClean system cleans, dries, charges and lubricates the Philips Shaver series 9000, so it shaves like the first time, every time
  • Personal comfort settings allow men to adjust the shaver to suit their skin and hair type for optimal comfort on all parts of the face and neck
  • Specific models feature the SmartClean system for easier and more hygienic cleaning
