Smart, spotless cleaning for a welcoming home by Philips Floor Care

Berlin, Germany – At this year’s Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Berlin, Germany, Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) is presenting new innovations that empower consumers to take an active role in managing their health and well-being to get the most out of life.

In a typical home, more than 18kg (40lbs) of dust is gathered annually1. Whether your floors are hard or carpeted, it can be a time consuming chore to keep your floors clean. The Philips Floor Care range is designed to be your ally in thorough cleaning on every type of floor. Not only tackling the cleanliness of your home, but removing allergens from your floors, giving you a cleaner indoor environment.

Philips PowerPro Ultimate with LED, to reveal & capture invisible dust

Bring all dust and dirt to light for a thorough clean, with the Philips PowerPro Ultimate. The powerful light on its TriActive LED nozzle reveals fine dust left on the floor and under furniture, illuminating exactly what needs to be removed for a thorough clean.

Its PowerCyclone 8 technology accelerates air in the cyclonic chamber to separate out dust. This, together with the allergy filter ensures that 99.9% of fine dust particles are captured. The PowerPro Ultimate with A+ energy efficiency rating is also effective on allergens so you can experience a new level of cleanliness.

The TriActive LED nozzle can be used on carpets and soft-floors without having to switch modes, and its flap system means it does not accumulate dust and hair like other nozzles.

It is equipped with a mess-free dust management system to ensure floors and air stay dust free after cleaning. The ergonomic dust bucket can be operated with just one hand for easy and controlled dust disposal avoiding dust clouds. While, the Auto on-off function with motion sensing technology2 powers down the vacuum cleaner when you stop using it for short periods, allowing you to move furniture around or pick-up the phone without being bothered by the noise of the vacuum cleaner.

SmartPro Active Connected with the SmartPro App, creating a clean home via your smartphone

The Philips SmartPro Active Connected robot vacuum cleaner with its intuitive App, not only ensures your home is clean but gives you the ability to control the process from anywhere. The SmartPro App lets you tailor the cleaning process to fully fit your needs. You can set the size of the room, the intensity of clean, the cleaning pattern the robot will follow and monitor the cleaning process by receiving instant feedback on the cleaning status. You can schedule your next cleaning session at any time, from anywhere.

The SmartPro Active delivers superior cleaning performance. Its TriActive XL nozzle has an extra-large width so it is able to clean your home two times faster3. Furthermore, its advanced three step cleaning system means the SmartPro Active efficiently captures dust and removes dirt – including dry mopping to collect the finest dust. Areas where dust accumulates the most are recognized automatically thanks to its dust sensor, and are cleaned deeply thanks to the Turbo suction mode. No matter the size and shape of your room, the four cleaning modes will adapt to the different areas in your home.

Philips is innovating continuously to enable consumers to make their lives better. In this spirit, Alexa is being integrated as a service for some of our appliances in Air and Floor Care. Alexa is an intelligent personal assistant developed by Amazon. It lets you speak your wishes and see them fulfilled – and this now includes controlling your Philips SmartPro Active. It can respond to voice commands so you can switch on your robot vacuum cleaner when it’s needed. Currently, interaction and communication with Alexa is only available in English and German, and will be launched in Q4 in Germany.

“We all want to live in clean homes and spend less time cleaning. However when you’re juggling a busy work and home life, cleaning can be a time-consuming, tedious chore. Taking into account your needs and your surroundings, Philips Floor Care develops high-performing tools that help you to get great cleaning results, and to create the inviting home environment you want. Innovations such as our SmartPro Active with App provide you with a flexible solution for keeping your home looking spotless. Control the robot from wherever you are, and be welcomed by a clean home,” Eugene de Lannoy, Business Leader Floor Care, BG Domestic Appliances.
