Technology on the cutting edge with the Philips OneBlade, a revolutionary grooming tool, to provide the perfect look for the modern man

Berlin, Germany – At this year’s Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Berlin, Germany, Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) showcases new products and services that empower consumers to take an active role in managing their health and well-being to get the most out of life.

Created in response to changing the face of men’s grooming habits, the Philips OneBlade is a revolutionary innovation designed to give men the power to trim, edge and shave any length of facial hair with complete comfort and convenience using just one single tool. Perfect for a world in which being clean shaven is just one choice of many available to young guys. With OneBlade, men can shape and tweak even long facial hair with one, easy-to-use tool. The unique one-bladed product can be used both wet and dry.

Philips OneBlade combines rotary Shaving technology with the benefits of a trimmer in one cutting element and features a hybrid razor with a replaceable head. This makes it perfect for both shaving and facial hair edging. It also comes with 3 clip-on combs (1mm, 3mm, 5mm) that help transform the product into a trimming device. It allows men to free themselves of the hassle and pain of existing tools and create whatever look they want with total ease.

“Philips has always been at the cutting edge of male grooming technology and with the OneBlade we feel that we have created a tool suited for the men of today. At Philips we know younger men are shaving less and styling more and are having difficulty finding the right tools for the job,” says John Smith, Business Leader Philips Male Grooming. “The Philips OneBlade has a unique functionality and the best way to bring across the magic of the product is to see it in action - descriptions of technology fall flat in comparison to seeing the product shaving through a thick beard!”

It can do all this because the revolutionary hybrid technology integrates a fast moving blade (200x a second!) with a protection system that keeps skin happy. The dual-protection system integrates a glide coating that smoothly glides along the skin, while the rounded polymer tips guide the hairs to be instantly cut. OneBlade does not shave too close – so the skin stays comfortable. The replaceable blade lasts up to 4 months.

OneBlade’s innovative cutting mechanism moves 200 times per second, instantly cutting off even the longest hair, giving you a clean look, even trim or precise sharp edges. The product’s glide strip and skin-friendly polymer shield also mean that the only cuts men need to worry about are to their facial hair rather than their faces. For added comfort, Philips OneBlade does not shave too close and never clogs or pulls unlike some grooming tools men use to get the job done.
