In creating a vision of tomorrow’s mobile healthcare, designers have challenged the status quo by asking the question: Instead of going to the hospital, what if the hospital comes to you?
Scenarios for a vision of autonomous healthcare were created based on insights into emerging societal and technological trends. They propose that hospitals will only provide treatments for patients who need to be on site, while other treatments could be brought to the patients.
From a mobile care clinic delivering care services, to managing chronic disease, to working with health coaches and preparing for surgical procedures, designers explored new care delivery models that, where possible, bring care to people. Visionary projects raise questions such as: How can solutions such as these enable better care coordination? How can they improve overall health management in our future cities? The pilot of a Health Mobility Service Concept is now on the roads in Nagano, Japan. The results will provide insights into the role mobile solutions will play in tomorrow’s healthcare landscape.
