My passion for innovation through technology goes back a long way, in fact, to my childhood days. I always wanted to be a part of it and bring a positive difference to people with it. I just did not know how.
It was not until the IT software landscape in India changed in a big way that the realization came to me on how I can ride on this opportunity and innovation to bring change to people’s lives.
I learned to code and became a software developer. I worked with different companies, but I still longed for a platform that was open to meaningful and innovative ideas, which brought real transformation to human lives. And then I joined Philips.
Just over a year of spending time at Philips as Senior Technical Specialist, I can proudly say that I am part of a successful Philips product that is at the forefront of innovation, saving lives. I closely worked with software architects at Philips and as a coder for a software product called IntelliSpace Consultative Critical Care or ICCC. It is an innovative solution that provides time-critical real-time patient information on health vitals from ICUs.
The system aggregates data across multiple ICUs and presents them to critical care physicians/clinicians via a dashboard. The dashboard lists all ICUs in a hospital and corresponding information on the condition of patients, real-time. Moreover, the dashboard is so simple to use that even a technology-aversive person would be able to use it. Hospitals could now stay on top of their patients’ conditions and react to emergencies faster than ever before.
A sense of achievement ran through me when the final product went live at the Ministry of Health, Dubai. Philips provides you that work environment where you get to simplify complex technology challenges through innovation.
The company gives you plenty of breathing space to come up with your innovative ideas and collaborate with a well-integrated and closely-knit team of experienced professionals. Given the respect and position Philips has in the medical space, it does not take much time before you are already working on an innovative and affordable solution that touches lives.
Philips is a place where your software codes become part of innovations that matter and which save lives. I am proud to be part of this organization where I code to care.
