We identify projects and programs that make lasting change a reality

The Philips Foundation has begun awarding funding and resources for projects around the world, and is reviewing new project applications on and ongoing basis. Some of the existing projects that Royal Philips has been involved with and new projects under way include:

Engaging children in Monza about healthy living

Philips Foundation partnered with Red Cross Monza Committee and Brianza per il Cuore to introduce children to healthy eating habits and the importance of first aid training.

Ultrasound access in rural areas of Uganda

Life-threatening birth complications can be identified early on using ultrasound. ITW is identifying finance models for low-cost ultrasound imaging in remote parts of Uganda.

Helping to create a community of compassionate care in Seattle

Philips and The Philips Foundation helped the Seattle/King County Clinic once again in producing a giant free health clinic. The four-day volunteer-driven clinic provided a full range of free dental, vision and medical care to underserved and vulnerable populations in the region.

Improving the lives of vulnerable people with first aid education

The Philips Foundation and the British Red Cross have joined to improve the lives of vulnerable people through a program to improve first aid education and training deployment in the UK.

UNICEF and The Philips Foundation launch the Maternal and Newborn Health Innovations Project

GORILLA encourages children to adopt a healthy lifestyle

Children in Switzerland attend special events and workshops, learning the importance of balanced diets and active leisure time. The aim is to achieve a healthy body weight in the young Swiss generation.

Providing kindergartens and improving infant nutrition in rural China

Philips is providing expertise and facilities in a two-part pilot project in Xinjiang, which focuses on improving nutritional health in infants and providing kindergarten care for small children.

180,000 Little Hearts will be given a better chance

180,000 children will receive heart scans as part of the Little Hearts Project in rural areas of Turkey with the support of Philips Foundation.

Light up your Life extends the sporting and social day for isolated and low-income communities in Peru, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico, by providing sustainable LED lighting.

My new life: Ways to health and wellbeing.

NCDs (non-communicable diseases) account for almost two-thirds of the total number of deaths worldwide. Together with the Austrian Red Cross, Philips has set up a program that aims to reduce the risk of disease through improving health-related behavior.

Community Life Centers in Africa

Improving access to primary healthcare is a key challenge across Africa. Royal Philips’ Community Life Centers provide vital primary care but also go beyond by turning health facilities into community hubs where technology is bundled with services.
