Philips Consumer Lifestyle BV, with address at High Tech Campus 5, 5656 AE, Eindhoven, The Netherlands, (”Philips”, “our”, “we” or “us”) wants you to be familiar with how we collect, use and disclose Personal Data.

The Philips Air Purifier Action allows you to control your Philips connected products and obtain air quality information through Google Assistant.  This Privacy Notice applies to the information and personal data that we process when you use the Action.

1. What information and personal data do we collect and for what purposes?

We collect Personal Data when you use the Action as further specified below. We associate your Personal Data with unique identifiers.

We collect your personal data when you create an account. You may login to the Action using a MyPhilips account or by using your social media profile, including your Apple account.

 

  • The personal data we collect may include your name, email address, country, language and password.  We also process session, login and authentication information, which we use to manage your account.
  • If you log in via social media, the personal data we collect may include your basic public profile (e.g., full/short name, profile photo, identifier, gender, profile URL, birthday, homepage, and location) and your email, which we use for authentication purposes. In this case, your social media provider may collect information on the fact that you are using the Action and logging in using your social media account. Please read your social media provider’s Privacy Notice (e.g., Facebook, Google, Apple) to learn about their privacy practices, including, what type of personal data they collect, and how they use, process and protect them.
  • We use your Account Data to create and manage your account and provide personalized Services. You can use your account to securely login to the Action. If you create a MyPhilips account to login to the Action, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password, to communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to send you strictly service-related announcements, or direct marketing communications in case you have opted-in. You may also use your MyPhilips account to order a Philips product or service, participate in a promotion or game, participate in a social media activity related to a Philips promotion (for example clicking "like" or "share"), and participate in product testing or surveys.

Devices data

Your Action commands data

When you enable the Action, we allow you to connect your Google Account to the Philips account you use to login to your Philips apps. To be able to identify you and route your commands, Philips shares account identifiers with Google.

When you speak to Google Assistant, Google sends a written version of your voice commands to Philips together with a unique identifier.  We process this information to execute your commands and issue a response in accordance with this Privacy Notice.  We share our written response with Google so that Google can inform you about the outcome of your command in accordance with Google’s Privacy Notice and Terms of Use. Philips and Google also exchange information on the Devices you decide to control through the Action, including when you update, change or remove a device.  

 

You understand that your commands and the responses that Philips shares with Google amount to personal data.  You also understand that Google provides its own voice services to you and by providing consent, you instruct us to share your personal data with Google.  Google may process your personal data in countries outside of your country of residence which may not provide adequate protection to personal data. You can revoke your consent at any time by disabling the Action.  

 

You customer support data

We operate and provide our Action services, including providing customer support, and improving, fixing, and customizing our Services. You may provide us with information related to your use of the Action, including your interaction with Philips, and how to contact you so we can provide you customer support. We also use your information to respond to you when you contact us.

 

 

The legal bases used to process your personal data

We process your Personal Data based on your express consent, or for the performance of a contract to which you are a party when we provide our services.  We may also process your data for Philips’ legitimate interests to provide consumer/customer support. We will only process your data for Philips’ legitimate interests when we’ve concluded that the processing will not outweigh your privacy rights and interests. We may also process your data in order to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation to which Philips is subject, for example, if we are requested by a governmental authority to disclose your data for audit purposes, or when you decide to exercise any of your choices and/or rights.

Choices and rights

Cross-border transfer

3. How long do we keep your data?

4. What rights and choices are available to you?
