If you’re a keen reader of this page then you may have noticed that we’re quite excited about a new film called Mansome that explores the definition of what it means to be a man in the 21st century.
Mansome is all about the freedom men have today to express themselves in whatever way they choose to, which is kind of what our whole blog is about. Here are a few reasons why we’re looking forward to seeing the film.
5 reasons why you should watch Mansome the movie

1. That bearded guy from the Hangover is in it
It’s got Zack Galifianakis in it, possibly our favorite bearded man in the world. A man of many talents – actor, comedian, and talk show host (check out Between Two Ferns if you haven’t already) – he lends the film a sense of surly coolness.
2. It features Philips’ very own Grooming Expression Expert – Dr Allan Peterkin
Our friend, Dr Peterkin pops up in the film a couple of times to share his awesome in-depth knowledge of the history of male grooming. You don’t have to wait for the movie to read his stuff though, you can check out his amazing insights right here on our blog.
3. Will Arnett and Jason Bateman are the stars
We’re big Arrested Development fans, so we’re excited to see the Bluth brothers back in action. They’ve also recruited quite a few famous friends for the film, including Paul Rudd, John Waters and ZZ Top. Bet you never thought you’d hear those names together.

4. Morgan Spurlock’s mustache
The film is directed by Morgan Spurlock, the man behind films including Super Size Me and The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, who sports an extremely impressive horseshoe mustache (if you want to look like Morgan then read our most recent post Go Mansome!) and that’s as good a reason as any to see the film.
5. It’s introduced a new cool word
Back in the mid-90’s, the cringe-worthy term “metrosexual” made its appearance and has stuck around far too long. As grooming trends evolve, so should the lingo and we think Will Arnett said it best at the film’s L.A. premiere “I’m not a metrosexual. We’re in the process of retiring that term.” Now-a-days it’s all about looking mansome. So go forth my friend, start the trend and be ahead of the curve with your mansome self.
Are you excited to see the film? What celebrity would you say embodies the word “Mansome”?
