This Privacy Notice applies to all personal data of job applicants processed by Koninklijke Philips N.V. or its subsidiaries (Philips) in connection with Philips career website.

About the Philips Career Website

You can apply for a position within Philips anywhere in the world via an online recruitment application system. By means of this recruitment application system, you can create a profile and apply for a specific vacancy. Via the use of this application and submission of related information, you can provide personal data to Philips in connection with the recruiting process. Philips and our service providers (as listed under ‘With whom are Personal Data shared?’)

What Personal Data are collected?

“Personal Data” are data that identify you as an individual or relate to an identifiable individual.

For the purposes of the Talent Newsflash, the following personal data will be collected:

  • Full name;
  • Email address;
  • Country of residence;
  • Areas of interest;
  • Incomplete application;

    For the purposes of the Job Alert Subscription on the Philips Career Website:
  • E-mail address.

    For the purposes of the personalized job recommendations on the Philips Career Website:
  • Public LinkedIn profile.

Through cookies or similar technologies, we may collect:

  • IP address; 
  • Browser type;
  • Language settings;
  • The website you came from and the website you visit; and 
  • The links you click while using our sites and services.

How are Personal Data collected?

We and our service providers collect Personal Data in a variety of ways, including:
 
  • Through the Philips Careers Website: 
    We collect Personal Data when you sign up through the Talent Newsflash form; and
    When you sign up for the Job Alert Subscription.

  • From other sources:
    If you choose to connect your Public LinkedIn profile upon signing up for personalized job recommendations on the Philips Careers Website, you will share certain Personal Data from your social media account with us, such as your name, e-mail address, skills, and any other information you choose to make accessible to use when you connect your LinkedIn account.

What is the purpose of the collection of Personal Data?

We and our service providers use Personal Data for our legitimate business purposes including:

  • Providing the functionality of the Philips Career Website to you, such as arranging access to your registered account;
  • Recommending jobs that match the skills of users through LinkedIn;
  • Alert users of new job vacancies via e-mail;
  • Facilitate job application processes.

    We engage in these activities with your consent.

We disclose your Personal Data to the following service providers:

    - Omniture Adobe (Adobe Systems, Inc. 345 Park Ave. San Jose, CA 95110-2704)

 

We share your Personal Data in order for these third parties to provide services such as website hosting, data analysis, information technology and related infrastructure provision, email delivery of job communications, and other services.

Cookies

Philips’ career websites use "cookies", which are small text files stored on your device, to help operate the sites and collect information about online activity. Philips websites use cookies for several purposes, including:

 

  • Storing your Preferences and Settings 
  • Sign-in and Authentication 
  • Targeted Advertising 
  • Site Analytics

Philips provides browser controls to help you manage cookies. You can accept cookies but opt out of their use to behaviorally target advertisements. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies but allow you to modify your browser setting to block cookies. If you accept cookies, you can delete them later.  

 

Through Omniture (Adobe), a Microsoft owned analytic service, we use cookies and web beacons to compile aggregated statistics regarding the effectiveness of promotional campaigns or other website operations.

Security

We seek to use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures to protect Personal Data within our organization. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please immediately notify us in accordance with the “How can you contact us?” section below.

What are your rights?

If you would like to:
(i)    ask questions about how we handle Personal Data; 

(ii)    request to review, correct, update, suppress or restrict the use of your Personal Data; 

(iii)    request that your Personal Data be removed from our database; 

(iv)    withdraw your consent to our use of your Personal Data, without affecting the lawfulness that use prior to this withdrawal; 

(v)    object to our use of Personal Data for direct marketing purposes or for our legitimate business interests, or 

(vi)    request to receive an electronic copy of your Personal Data for purposes of transmitting it to another company (to the extent this right to data portability is provided to you by applicable law), please contact us at privacy@philips.com. We will respond to your request consistent with applicable law.
 

In your request, please make clear what Personal Data you would like to have changed, whether you would like to have your Personal Data suppressed from our database, or otherwise let us know what limitations you would like to put on our use of your Personal Data. For your protection, we only implement requests with respect to the Personal Data associated with the particular email address that you use to send us your request, and we may need to verify your identity before implementing your request. We will try to comply with your request as soon as reasonably practicable.

How long will the Personal Data be kept?

We will retain your Personal Data for as long as needed or permitted in light of the purpose(s) for which it was obtained. The criteria used to determine our retention periods include:
 
(i)    the length of time we have an ongoing employee relationship with you; 

(ii)    whether there is a legal obligation to which we are subject; or 

(iii)    whether retention is advisable in light of our legal position (such as in regard to applicable statutes of limitations, litigation or regulatory investigations).
 

For the purposes of the Philips Career Website, the retention period will be 1 year from the date you sign up for the Talent Newsflash, or the Job Alert Subscription.

Cross-border transfers 

Your Personal Data can be stored and processed in any country outside of your country of residence where we have facilities or in which we engage service providers, which can have data protection rules that are different from those of your country. In certain circumstances, courts, law enforcement agencies, regulatory agencies or security authorities in those other countries may be entitled to access your Personal Data.
 

If you are located in the EEA, your Personal Data can be transferred to our affiliates or service providers in non-EEA countries that are recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection according to EEA standards. The server of Phenom People is located in Virginia, USA. We have made adequate contractual arrangements with this service provider, such as the EU Model Clauses, to protect your Personal Data.
 

For transfers between Philips businesses (intracompany transfers) from the EEA to countries not considered adequate by the European Commission, we have put in place adequate measures, such as our Binding Corporate Rules for Customer, Supplier and Business Partner Data to protect your Personal Data. Updates to this Privacy Notice

We may change this Privacy Notice. The “LAST UPDATED” legend at the top of this Privacy Notice indicates when this Privacy Notice was last revised. Significant changes will be communicated and will become effective when we post the revised Privacy Notice on the Philips Career Website.
