The Philips DreamMapper App enables you to connect to compatible Philips Respironics PAP therapy devices (“Devices”) and keep track of your sleep therapy data and stay motivated.
The Philips DreamMapper App Privacy Notice (“App Privacy Notice”) explains how Philips processes information and personal data when you use the App and its connected Devices, and supplements the global Philips Privacy Notice, which provides general information on how we process your personal data, including information not specifically covered in this App Privacy Notice.
Subject to your choices, we process your personal data for the following purposes: • Providing personalized services. We want to allow you to securely login to the app and provide you with a personalized experience based on your account details. • Managing your account. We process your account credentials and profile details to allow you to securely login to the app and provide you with our services. • Providing a personalized experience. We process your personal data to give you a customized app experience. We do so by displaying your individual sleep therapy data and progress. Additionally, we provide personalized notifications and reminders based on your preferences.
• Improving our apps and services. We want to improve the app and develop new features and solutions for you based on how you interact with us and use the app. • Based your app usage data. If you provide consent, you will help us improve the app and our connected products (as well as develop new healthcare solutions for you) based on the data we observe and collect when you use our services. Subject to your choices, we may also use your data to further personalize your app experience. We do so by: • Assessing how you use the app and how the app performs on your mobile device, including when the app crashes to identify and fix issues. • Implementing and analyzing changes or features across different groups to understand interactions. • Evaluating how the app is accessed and used and directly link you to specific app sections. • Interacting with you to obtain your feedback, supporting you when required, and sending you service-related communications. • Inviting you to participate in surveys or research projects organized by the Philips group. • Based on your ratings and reviews. If you write a review or rate the app on the app stores, we may process such information to respond to your comments and questions, understand how you feel when using the app, get familiar with your general perception of the app and our brand, and use these insights to improve the app. We can only see your app store username, ratings, comments and any other detail you decide to share with us or make publicly available. Unless you require us to do so, we do not link this information to your account credentials or any other information we hold from you. Where you require customer support, we may use your data to follow-up on your case and guide you through our customer support process. • Based on how you interact with us across multiple channels. To make sure we give you the best experience when using the Philips products or services, we may combine the data we process when you use the app, with data collected during your interactions and usage of the Philips digital channels such as social media, websites, emails, apps and connected products. We only do this based on your consent or after concluding that the processing does not outweigh your privacy rights and interests.
The categories of personal data we process include: • Providing you personalized services • Managing your Account. When managing your account, the data we process include your account credentials and profile information, such as name, email address, country, language, password, as well as your session, login and authentication information. • Based your app usage data. When improving our apps and services based your app usage data, the data we process include your mobile device identifiers, session and usage data, operating system, model, carrier, network information and (masked) IP addresses, and app information, such as app name, version, usage and events, pages visited, session information, and connected device data.
• Providing a Personalized Experience. When providing a personalized experience, the data we process include your sleep therapy data such as nightly device usage, mask fit, and number of apnea events throughout the night.
• Improving our apps and services
• Based on your ratings and reviews. When improving our apps and services based on your ratings and reviews, the data we process include your app store username and profile, ratings, reviews, comments and questions.
• Based on how you interact with us across multiple channels. When improving our apps and services based on how you interact with us across multiple channels, the data we process include your IP addresses, mobile device information, communications you click on or tap, location details, and websites you visit.
The lawful bases we rely on to process your personal data are as follows: • Improving our apps and services. We process your personal data based on your explicit consent. Where no special categories of data are involved, we may rely on our legitimate interests. Our legitimate interests involve improving our services and developing new solutions for society and for you in the sleep and respiratory care domain. We always conduct a balancing test in order to make sure that our legitimate interest outweighs any risks to your rights and freedoms.
• Providing you personalized services. We process your personal data based on your explicit consent. Where no special categories of data are involved, we process your personal data to provide our services based on our terms.
• Allowing you to share your data with third parties. We process and share your personal data with third parties based on your explicit consent.
When required to provide our services, the app may request your permission to access your mobile device’s storage capabilities, sensors, or other features. These permissions include: • Bluetooth. The app requires Bluetooth connection to connect the Device to the app. You can at any time block your Bluetooth connection through the settings of your mobile device. • Calendar. If you want the app to remind you about your upcoming dental appointments , the app will require permission to access your calendar. We will not copy or store your calendar information. This information will remain in your mobile device. • Location. To allow users to connect and use any Bluetooth device with their phone, Android operating systems require users to give permission for the app to access coarse geographic location. iOS asks users to give permission for the app to access geographic location, which enables a robust way of syncing data (iBeacon™) from the toothbrush and the mobile device when not using the app. The app does not use these permissions to determine your location, nor does Philips collect your location data. You can revoke location permissions at any time in the settings of your mobile device. • Files. The app requires access to the mobile device’s files to store the language configurations and other files that the app uses to operate (e.g., graphics, media files, or other large program assets). If you delete the app, the data will be deleted from your mobile device. • Other. In some cases, your operating system may request permissions that your mobile device needs for technical reasons, but that are not controlled or used by Philips. We will not collect any data associated with such permissions unless required to provide our services in accordance with this notice.
When required to provide our services and subject to this App Privacy Notice, we may access information from your device or store certain information on your device. In order to do this we may use various technologies such as cookies, tags, pixels, SDKs or similar technologies, which we collectively refer to as ‘Cookies’ hereafter. • Required Cookies. In some cases, access/ storage of information on your device is essential to provide the App services to you. In such cases, we do not need your prior consent to enable the access or storage. • Security and Authentication. We use functional Cookies for security, authentication, session management and service-related purposes. These Cookies help us verify your identity, protect your account and provide our services. • Cookies required to provide the Service explicitly requested by you. When essential to provide our services, (e.g., to ensure that we provide App content relevant to your country of residence, and in your preferred language; or to make sure that the content fits your mobile device screen) we may need to process information from your mobile device including your IP address, type of mobile internet browser, operating system, SIM card carrier information, session and usage data, or service-related performance data. • Other Cookie. We use Cookies for analytics and product improvement purposes. These Cookies read information and personal data from your mobile device and your app usage and interaction data and are subject to your prior consent (please see Improve our Products and Services under the chapter, Lawful Basis of Processing above).
