Philips mobile apps for training and education of healthcare professionals

 

Philips has developed and launched the following mobile apps for the benefit of health care professionals (HCPs) who can use these apps for engaging in relevant educational content and interactive training materials.

 

         (i) Philips IGT Devices Venous IVUS Tutor App. This app allows HCPs to find out more about IGT-D venous IVUS technology in an interactive way.

         (ii) Philips IGT Devices Coronary IVUS Tutor App. This app allows HCPs to find out more about the IGT-D coronary IVUS technology in an interactive way.

         (iii) Philips IGT Systems Learning App. This is an interactive tool designed to introduce HCPs to the basics of various imaging features of the IGT Azurion system, enabling them to experience diagnostic benefits encountered in daily patient imaging.

         (iv) Philips CT Learning App. This app is an interactive tool designed to introduce medical professionals to the basics of CT physics and various imaging features, enabling them to experience diagnostic benefits encountered in daily patient imaging.

          (v) Philips MR Learning App. This app helps users to learn more about the Philips MR innovations. It contains learning videos, documents and links to introduce users to MR technology, scan techniques, post processing and more.

          (vi) Philips Ultrasound Circle CV App. This app is a one stop solution that contains how-to videos, tutorials, case studies, webinars, marketing videos, including video on demand and live streaming distribution of Cardiovascular (CV) topics.

           (vii) Philips DXR Learning App. This app is designed to help users learn more about Philips DXR innovations, and contains learning videos, documents and links to introduce users to DXR technology, scan techniques, post processing and more.

           (viii) Philips IGT-D Arterial App. This app allows HCPs to find out more about IGT-D arterial IVUS technology in an interactive way.

          

This section of the Privacy Notice explains how Philips processes information and personal data about you when you use the aforementioned Apps.


Who is the data controller


The data controller for the processing of your personal data in the context of the Philips IGT Devices Venous IVUS Tutor App, the Philips IGT Devices Coronary IVUS Tutor App and the Philips IGT Devices Arterial App is Philips Image Guided Therapy Corporation LLC, having its place of business at 9965 Federal Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80921.

 

The data controller for the processing of your personal data in the context of the Philips IGT Systems Learning App, the Philips CT Learning App and Philips MR Learning App is Philips Medical Systems Nederland B.V., having its place of business at Veenpluis 6, 5684 PC Best, the Netherlands.

 

The data controller for the processing of your personal data in the context of the Philips Ultrasound Circle CV App is Philips Ultrasound North America, LL.C, having its place of business at 22100 Bothell, Everett Highway, WA 98021, Bothell, United States.

 

The data controller for the processing of your personal data in the context of the Philips DXR Learning App is Philips Medical Systems DMC GmbH, having its place of business at Röntgenstrasse 24, 22335 Hamburg, Germany.

Why we process your personal data

Subject to your choices, we process your personal data for the following purposes:

 

 

Creating and managing your App Account. You can use the Apps without the need for registering or creating an account. In the event you choose to create an account where such feature is available (e.g., in case of Philips Ultrasound Circle CV App), you can do so by manually entering your personal information.

 

Providing App services. We process your personal data in order to provide the following services to you:

 

•  In-app messaging and push notifications.  Maintaining a consistent learning experience is essential for achieving great results, which is why we provide you with helpful reminders to stay on track.

Please note that Philips does not access or process your data in order to provide the core services of the Apps, including accessing and viewing videos, training materials, tutorials, webinars, etc.

Improving our products and services. Our primary goal is to provide you with the best possible products, services and solutions.

 

           •  Analytics. To achieve this, we collect information about your interactions with the App and assess its performance on your device. This includes identifying and promptly resolving any issues that may arise such as App crashes.

What personal data we process

The categories of personal data we process include:      

 

• Create and manage your App Account. If you create an account in the App, we process your contact information (such as your name and email address); password; information about your location (such as your country and language preference); and session log in and authentication information.

 

Providing App services. Please note that Philips does not access or process your data in order to provide the core services of the Apps, including accessing and viewing videos, training materials, tutorials, webinars, etc. However, in order to provide you in-app messages and push notifications, we process certain device related data as described below.

 

• In-app messaging and push Notification. Your mobile device and app usage data, such as your mobile device identifiers, session and usage data, operating system, model, carrier, network information and (masked) IP addresses and app information, such as app name, version, usage and events, pages visited and session information.

 

• Improving our products and services. To improve our products and services (and develop new ones!), we process the following categories of personal data:

 

• Analytics. Your mobile device and app usage data, such as your mobile device identifiers, session and usage data, operating system, model, carrier, network information and (masked) IP addresses, and app information, such as app name, version, usage and events, pages visited and session information.

What is the legal basis

The lawful bases we rely on to process your personal data are as follows:      

 

• Create and manage your App Account. We rely on the legal basis of performance of contract to create and manage your Account. We may access minimal information on your mobile device (e.g., country and language settings) in order to facilitate and enable the core services of the App.

 

Providing App services.

 

• In-app messaging and push Notification. We rely on the legal basis of performance of contract to facilitate and enable communication with you within the app (in-app messaging). Please note that before sending you push notifications, we rely on your express consent to enable the notifications in the app.

 

• Improving our products and services.

 

• Analytics. We rely on your express consent prior to enabling access to your information (as detailed above) for the purpose of analytics. You can choose to withdraw this consent anytime in the Settings of the App. If you withdraw this consent, we will no longer collect and process this data, but data previously collected/ processed may still be used for the purpose of product and service improvement.

Accessing or storing information on your device

 

When required to provide our services and subject to this section of the Privacy Notice, we may access information from your device or store certain information on your device in the context of using the Apps. In order to do this we may use various technologies such as cookies, tags, pixels, SDKs or similar technologies, which we collectively refer to as ‘Cookies’ hereafter.   

 

•  Required Cookies. In some cases, access/ storage of information on your device is essential to provide the App services to you. In such cases, we do not need your prior consent to enable the access or storage.

 

      • Security and Authentication. We use functional Cookies for security, authentication, session management and service-related purposes. These Cookies help us verify your identity, protect your account and provide our services.

 

   • Cookies required to provide the Service explicitly requested by you. When essential to provide our services, (e.g., to ensure that we provide App content relevant to your country of residence, and in your preferred language; or to make sure that the content fits your mobile device screen; or to provide in-app notifications to you) we may need to process information from your mobile device including your IP address, type of mobile internet browser, operating system, SIM card carrier information, session and usage data, or service-related performance data.

 

•  Other Cookies. We use Cookies for analytics and product improvement purposes. These Cookies read information and personal data from your mobile device and your app usage and interaction data and are subject to your prior consent (please see Improve our Products and Services under the chapter, What is the legal basis, above).  

Permissions

 

When required to provide our services, the app may request your permission to access your mobile device’s storage capabilities, sensors or other features. These permissions include:   

 

•  FilesThe app requires access to the mobile device’s files to store the language configurations and other files that the app uses to operate (e.g., graphics, media files, or other large program assets). If you delete the app, the data will be deleted from your mobile device. 

 

•  Photos and Media. If you wish to add a picture to your profile, the app will request permission to access your photo gallery. Philips will not process your profile picture in any manner. The data will remain on your mobile device, where Philips will not have access to it.

 

•  Calendar. If you want the app to remind you about your upcoming appointments, the app will require permission to access your calendar. We will not copy or store your calendar information. This information will remain in your mobile device. 

 

•  Other. In some cases, your operating system may request permissions that your mobile device needs for technical reasons, but that are not controlled or used by Philips. We will not collect any data associated with such permissions unless required to provide our services in accordance with this Notice.

This Privacy Notice forms part of, and must be read in conjunction with, the global Philips Privacy Notice, which we encourage you to read. The global Philips privacy notice is an integral component of this document and provides additional information on the categories of third parties with whom we may share your personal data, the measures we implement to protect your personal data, international data transfers and the safeguards in place, your privacy rights under applicable data protection laws, how to contact the relevant Data Protection Officer, or lodge a complaint, and relevant information specific to certain jurisdictions.
