Abhijit Bhattacharya wins Dutch CFO of the year award

Abhijit received the prize during the opening ceremony of CFO Day 2019 on Wednesday, June 5. “This is a recognition of his great career at Philips, his personal journey and the way in which he as CFO makes the difference in Philips’ transformation,” explained the jury.

“I am very honored to receive this award, it is a great recognition for the complete finance team at Philips,” Abhijit says. “Over the past years, the finance function has gone through an incredible transformation. We have made great strides in standardization, simplification, and reaching benchmark cost levels. Winning the CFO Award is primarily a recognition for this success, and for the progress that the entire company has made. I am happy for the team and for Philips.”

In an interview for CFO Magazine, the financial chief shares some of the best experiences from his career. He also explains how he wants to make Philips fit for decades to come: “We are not here for the short term, we want to make this company fit for the next 150 years.”
