Philips among the world’s most trustworthy companies in global ranking

Estimated reading time: 1-3 minutes

Independent analysis by Statista and Newsweek scores Philips highly for its trustworthiness with customers, investors, and employees

In an international analysis conducted by data gathering and business intelligence specialist Statista in collaboration with American weekly news magazine Newsweek, Philips is identified as one of the world’s most trustworthy companies from a customer, investor, and employee perspective.

“Patients are at the heart of everything we do at Philips, and I’m proud that in this significant piece of global research, we’ve been recognized for the trust that has been placed in the company by our customers, investors and employees,” said Leslie McGibbon, Head of Communications and Brand at Philips. “We will continue to build on our strong foundations: leading market positions in consumer and professional health, enabled by a strong portfolio, high customer intimacy, a strong brand and purpose, and clear ESG commitments.”

The Statista survey included more than 70,000 participants and a total of 269,000 company evaluations. Participants were asked to rate companies based on their trust in the company’s commitment to treating them fairly, its products and services, its complaints procedure, and its advertising and communication claims. Investors were asked to rate companies based on their trust in the company to deliver a good long-term investment, in the company’s values, and in the competency of its leadership. Employees and potential employees rated companies on the basis of their trust in the company to treat its employees fairly and its level of remuneration, attractiveness as an employer, and opportunities for career development. For all those companies that received a sufficient number of evaluations, Statista then conducted an internet-based social listening exercise across web articles, news items, forums, social networks, comment sections, and press releases, combining the survey and social listening results into a single trustworthiness score.

Philips consistently ranks highly in many of the world’s leading ‘top company’ assessments for its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance, its action on climate change and the circular economy, and its employee satisfaction ratings.
