Philips attends European Resuscitation Council’s annual congress

Estimated reading time: 2-4 minutes

Philips hosts educational webinars, displaying solutions that support quick, informed decision-making in emergency care

From October 22 to 24, Philips is attending the European Resuscitation Council’s virtual annual congress, RESUSCITATION2020. In addition to hosting a virtual booth showcasing the company’s emergency care and resuscitation systems, Philips is also hosting two educational webinars on pre-hospital care and protocol for cardiac arrest patients.

When lives are on the line, it is crucial for first responders to be able to focus on the patient, not the equipment. They need tools that are not only intuitive, easy to use and reliable, but also support safe, secure and seamless data transfer for decision support and documentation. In moments when time and information are critical, these frontline workers need to know that their data is being quickly transferred to the right hands and will be able to provide them with the informed decisions they rely on. The right tools can improve health outcomes, and also improve the patient and provider experience overall.

Philips Emergency Care and Resuscitation systems help first responders and clinicians to respond to emergencies quickly and effectively wherever they occur. An end-to-end solution, this portfolio of data-driven products is designed to be easy to use for rapid response and confident decision-making. Intended to act as an extension of the user, these tools ensure that frontline workers can quickly activate the right workflow at the right time. Among the products on display at RESUSCITATION2020 are the Philips Monitor/Defibrillator (known as HeartStart Intrepid with Emergency Care Informatics Suite and Tempus ALS with IntelliSpace Corsium) and Philips AED (known as HeartStart HS1 and HeartStart FRx).

We are excited to bring two innovative webinars to the learning experience of the ERC Congress. Focusing on front line responders providing emergency care, diagnosis and treatment, allowing them to maximize investments in time, training, provider and patient safety.

“Philips offers a broad range of proven complementary solutions for first responders, providing the flexibility to adapt and extend care-models in this rapidly changing environment” said Arman Voskerchyan, General Manager of Therapeutic Care at Philips. “We are excited to bring two innovative webinars to the learning experience of the ERC Congress. Focusing on front line responders providing emergency care, diagnosis and treatment, allowing them to maximize investments in time, training, provider and patient safety.”

Philips is hosting two educational webinars at RESUSCITATION2020, focusing on the critical steps for prehospital care for cardiac arrest:

  • How Do I Launch a Successful Community Responder Program?:  On Thursday, October 22 from 20:00 – 21:00 CEST, join experts in a step-for-step discussion of strategies needed for a successful citizen responder program in case of a cardiac arrest. Different stakeholders will share their elements of success, including their overall effectiveness of citizen responder programs, components of a citizen responder alert program, and how to build an AED network through activating communities. They will also discuss a case study on COVID-19’s impact on responder and alerting protocols.
  • Pre-hospital Care of Traumatic Cardiac Arrest: Join Professor Richard Lyon, MBE on Friday, October 23 from 20:15 – 21:15 CEST to learn more about Traumatic Cardiac Arrest (TCA), one of the most urgent, time-critical, life-threatening trauma situation Emergency Medical Service personnel can face. Professor Lyon will share more on how the understanding and management of this condition has progressed significantly in the last few years, presenting the epidemiology and pathology of TCA; describing the ‘HOT’ algorithm of pre-hospital interventions; and offering strategies on how to maximize chance of survival for patients.

This year at RESUSCITATION2020, attendees have the opportunities to interact with resuscitation experts, share scientific work, present top-notch performance in the resuscitation competition and connect with peers in digital meeting rooms. Follow along with us on social media from October 22 – 24 using the hashtag #RESUS20.
