Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Milan, Italy – At the European Respiratory Society (ERS) International Congress 2017 in Milan, Italy (September 9-13), Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), a global leader in health technology, will showcase and announce the global expansion of its suite of cutting-edge connected respiratory and sleep solutions, designed to offer more effective and efficient care.
With a growing number of people diagnosed with chronic conditions worldwide, Philips is committed to transforming how healthcare is delivered, leveraging clinical and consumer insights to innovate new and impactful solutions and services. Through the use of connected sleep and respiratory therapies, patients can rediscover their confidence and freedom to live a fulfilling life by restoring their ability to sleep and breathe better while simultaneously enabling more efficient care. Norwegian strength athlete Karen Skalvoll, a prime example of how these respiratory innovations can make a positive impact, will join Philips at ERS 2017 to share her impressive journey.
“As adherence continues to remain top-of-mind for both respiratory and obstructive sleep apnea patients, our suite of connected care solutions aim for better adherence to therapy – especially in those critical first 90 days,” said Tim Murphy, General Manager of New Business Solutions for Philips Sleep & Respiratory Care. “Connected care technology can have such a positive impact on patients – both to help them better adhere to therapy, but also to achieve a greater quality of life.”
Show attendees will have the opportunity to view the latest suite of innovations from Philips in sleep and respiratory care that aim to:
- Help improve patient engagement and adherence: Care Orchestrator is Philips next-generation patient management application that connects sleep and respiratory homecare providers, physicians, and payers with patients across the entire health continuum. Currently available in North America, Philips will publicly announce for the first time at ERS 2017 that Care Orchestrator will be expanding to additional markets in early 2018. DreamMapper, a mobile and web-based application shown to improve adherence to PAP therapy, will also be on-site.
- Provide patients with more options: DreamStation Go, Philips newest and smallest positive airway pressure (PAP) device, is designed to simplify travel for patients living with obstructive sleep apnea. In addition to the brand-new DreamStation Go, Philips will be showcasing the latest expansion of Philips’ award-winning DreamStation Platform, DreamStation BiPAP AutoSV and AVAPS solutions, designed to deliver optimal ventilation with minimal mechanical intervention to treat those suffering with complex sleep-disordered breathing and respiratory insufficiencies. The BiPAP AVAPS or AutoSV therapy options use algorithms to automatically deliver treatment to these patients requiring unique therapy needs. Both offerings are fully-integrated through Philips Encore Anywhere patient management tool; Care Orchestrator (where available) and Philips DreamMapper.
- Philips will also showcase a new addition to its award-winning line of innovative DreamWear sleep therapy masks, DreamWear Gel Pillows, which offers an additional choice in cushion type.
- Support one of the most vulnerable populations of patients: The Wisp Pediatric Nasal Mask is a child-friendly mask that supports non-invasive ventilation (NIV) and is the most recent addition to the Wisp family of masks featuring a child-friendly giraffe fabric pattern, a modified cushion curvature and support tools to provide a positive experience for young patients and their families.
