As Chief Executive Officer of Philips North America, Brent Shafer is responsible for driving growth, expanding market share and advancing Philips’ position as a focused leader in health technology across the company’s largest market. With healthcare rapidly evolving and the need for innovative business models and solutions, Brent leads an organization of 17,000 employees in Health Systems, Personal Health and supporting operations.
Brent brings broad market and business experience to the role, having served in a range of senior leadership positions with Philips and other companies including GE, Johnson & Johnson, Hewlett-Packard and Hill-Rom. During his tenure at Philips, Brent has served as Chief Executive Officer of Philips’ Home Healthcare Solutions business. Under his leadership, the group achieved significant growth, expanded its portfolio of offerings and secured in-roads into new markets around the globe. In 2014, he was promoted to CEO of Philips North America.
Brent started his career at Intermountain Healthcare and completed his bachelor’s degree and additional graduate course work at the University of Utah. He is a board member of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) which leads global efforts to achieve healthier lives and economies through advanced medical technology as well as No Barriers USA, a charitable organization that empowers people to break through barriers of all kinds. Brent is also active in the Health Management Academy comprised of senior executives from large U.S. health systems focused on increasing the quality and efficiency of healthcare across the nation.
Married with three children, Brent enjoys skiing, mountain sports and music.
