Philips Research   100 years!

Being founded on the second of January 1914, Philips Research celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2014.

During these 100 years, the Philips Research organization has, as co-creator and strategic partner of the Philips business- and market organizations, consistently focused on improving people’s lives through technology-enabled meaningful innovations.


Working effectively across scientific and organizational boundaries in cross-disciplinary teams, Philips Research helped create new industries, has a track record of creating game changing innovations and is recognized as a key player in today’s innovation eco-systems.


The Philips researchers of today are inspired by Philips ambition to make the world healthier and more sustainable through innovation, the goal being to improve the lives of 3 billion people a year by 2025.
