Amounts of WEEE recycling in Europe

Philips participates in the WEEE Forum for the efficient collection of waste. WEEE stands for “Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment” and is a European association with its focus on open collection and recovery systems.

 

In 2008 the amount of WEEE recycled waste in EU countries related to Philips was 69.818 tons.

The collection schemes report on their annual performance through the WEEE Forum. 34 WEEE Forum members have provided data on quantities of WEEE collected in 2008. The findings showed 1.4 million tons of WEEE recycled waste that has been collected and 346 million inhabitants who were served.
