For the twelfth year running, Philips has won the Reputation Institute Benelux RepTrak® ‘Reputation Award – an annual award based on how companies perform on emotional and rational aspects of their reputation. This year, the Netherlands’ RepTrak® top 5 ranks three companies that are firmly rooted in the Brainport Eindhoven region, with semiconductor manufacturing equipment maker ASML winning the number-two spot and international industrial family business VDL Groep being number-five – proof of Brainport Eindhoven’s position as one of the world’s leading centers of high-tech innovation.
Our goal to improve the lives of three billion people each year by 2030 through meaningful innovation is a huge inspiration and an important reason, not only for customers to do business with us, but also for people who want to work at Philips.
Nanda Huizing
Head of Brand, Communications & Digital of Philips Benelux
“On behalf of my 11,500 colleagues in the Netherlands Philips organization I am naturally very proud of this special achievement, because we notice more and more that Philips is recognized as a leader in the field of health technology,” said Nanda Huizing, Head of Brand, Communications & Digital of Philips Benelux, who received the award on behalf of Philips. “Our goal to improve the lives of three billion people each year by 2030 through meaningful innovation is a huge inspiration and an important reason, not only for customers to do business with us, but also for people who want to work at Philips."
According to the latest Brainport Monitor 2018 report, the Brainport Eindhoven region’s economic growth, added value, labor productivity, and level of innovation are substantially above the Dutch average, making it one of the largest and fastest-growing contributors to the Dutch economy. Technology developed and produced in the region is already enabling solutions to global social issues such as universal access to healthcare, smart mobility and alternative energy generation. "Together with our production and innovation center in Drachten, the Brainport Eindhoven region is vitally important to Philips’ success," said Nanda Huizing. "Brainport Eindhoven has a unique power and identity of its own – a close-knit, behind-the-scenes network of mutually cooperating parties that makes the region a growing symbol of successful high-tech manufacturing worldwide.”
Each year, the Reputation Institute carries out research among the top 30 Dutch companies. The organization’s RepTrak® model assesses how companies perform on emotional aspects (such as Esteem and Trust) and rational aspects of their reputation (for example, Products & Services, Governance, Citizenship, etc.). It then looks at how this translates into people’s behavior, such as their willingness to buy products from the company or to work for the company.
