Philips debuts expanded precision diagnosis and image guided therapy portfolio at ECR 2019

• New Incisive CT helps healthcare organizations meet their most pressing financial, clinical and operational goals
• EMEA introduction of Illumeo with adaptive intelligence set to change how clinicians see, seek and share information
• Azurion with FlexArm opens up new imaging and patient positioning opportunities for image guided procedures

Advancing value-based care in CT

The newest addition to Philips’ diagnostic imaging portfolio, Incisive CT integrates innovations in imaging, workflow, and lifecycle management, helping healthcare providers to improve the CT experience for patients and staff, enable smart clinical decision-making and increase efficiency. With its industry-first ‘Tube for Life’ guarantee [2], Philips will replace the Incisive’s X-ray tube – a key component of any CT system – at no additional cost throughout the entire life of the system, potentially lowering operating expenses by an estimated $400,000 [3]. Incisive CT will be introduced in major markets in Europe and Asia in the first half of 2019, and will subsequently be rolled out in further markets [4].

At the congress Philips is also showcasing its recently-introduced Azurion with FlexArm system, setting a new standard for patient imaging and positioning flexibility for image-guided procedures. During increasingly complex interventions, clinicians need to quickly and easily visualize critical anatomy and identify changes to the patient during the procedure. Azurion with FlexArm includes a set of innovations that makes it easier for the clinician to perform imaging across the whole patient in both 2D and 3D. As the clinician moves the system, the image beam automatically maintains alignment with the patient, allowing more consistent visualization and enabling them to keep their focus on the treatment. 

Philips is also showcasing the EPIQ Elite ultrasound system, a new premium ultrasound that combines the latest advances in transducer innovation and enhanced performance to improve clinical confidence and the patient experience. EPIQ Elite offers a range of diagnostic ultrasound solutions tailored to the needs of specific medical specialties, including Philips’ first solution for vascular assessment and diagnosis. In addition, EPIQ Elite for Obstetrics & Gynecology delivers extraordinary image quality and lifelike 3D scans to provide advanced fetal assessment during all stages of pregnancy.

At ECR 2019 Philips is showcasing IntelliSpace Portal 11, the latest release of the company’s comprehensive, advanced visualization and quantification software. Philips IntelliSpace Portal is an advanced visualization and analysis software designed to support diagnostic process, follow-up and communication across clinical domains and modalities, through a connected and secure workflow. The new version further extends the clinical innovation of the Portal, with enhancements to improve workflow efficiencies, bridging secure data sharing between within the hospital network to address the security and privacy needs of customers globally.

Philips is also showcasing its latest advances in its Ingenia MRI portfolio, which comprises fully-digital MRI systems, healthcare informatics and a range of maintenance and life cycle services for integrated solutions that break down diagnostic boundaries by delivering speed, comfort and confidence, all with the aim to help improve patient care. The company will also highlight a recent study that demonstrates how a more patient-focused approach to managing patient stress and motion can result in MRI productivity gains [5].
