Circular design
Our EcoDesign approach helps reduce resource use and waste through low-weight design, renewable or recycled materials, longer product lifetimes and recycle-ready design.
Digital solutions
Software and digital solutions help optimize resource use by reducing the need for dedicated hardware. Cloud-based tools also support healthcare efficiency and can help reduce emissions, material use and energy compared to on-site equipment.
We offer software solutions that help our customers optimize their resource use, and many of our software solutions reduce the need for (dedicated) hardware. For instance, our Lumify with Reacts portable ultrasound connects directly to handheld devices, reducing the need for a separate patient monitor.
Products as a service model
Customers can access advanced care capabilities through models like Enterprise Monitoring as a Service. For consumers, Lumea Select Try & Buy offers flexibility – if it’s not a fit, we take back the product and refurbish when possible.
Upgrade services
Our upgrade services help keep equipment up to date so that providers can get the most out of their technology. For example, our Technology Maximizer supports system clinical capabilities, performance and security. Through our SmartPath program, we help customers retrofit older equipment with new technology.
Refurbishment
Philips offers equipment return on professional medical equipment sold directly to customers, as part of a trade-in offer or as a service at customer request [1]. We ensure that equipment returned to us is, where feasible, made available for refurbishment and/or parts recovery, or locally recycled. 1. Philips offers two portfolios for our refurbished medical equipment: Philips Circular Edition (high-quality refurbished medical imaging systems) and Select Edition (pre-owned medical imaging systems that are inspected and tested to Philips original specifications). Available at attractive pricing compared to similar new Philips systems, our refurbished systems offer the quality and performance that you expect from Philips, without the carbon footprint that comes from buying brand new solutions.
We also offer refurbished consumer products, with the aim to keep products (and the materials they are made of) in use for longer. Such refurbished products include shavers, IPL hair removal, and baby monitoring devices. We mostly refurbish consumer products that are returned to us by consumers within 30 days of purchase or from our subscription programs. A refurbished consumer product is a fully functional product that has guaranteed Philips quality, the same warranty and support as new products, with less waste.
