Responsibilities: Connected Care & Health Informatics businesses


Dr. Carla Kriwet is Chief Business Leader of our Connected Care & Health Informatics (CCHI) cluster of businesses. She was appointed to this role in February 2017 and oversees our Monitoring and Analytics, Therapeutic Care, Population Health Management and Healthcare Informatics businesses. Previously she led the Business Group Patient Care and Monitoring Solutions.


With over a decade of experience in leading healthcare and information technology companies to success, Carla Kriwet has become an influential leader in the industry. In her role as Chief Business Leader, Carla has an overarching view into all areas that fall within the businesses from connected sensing technologies and clinical decision support tools to innovative informatics solutions. Carla is also the executive sponsor for the Cardiology Business across all Philips divisions.


Passionate about connected health and connected sensing technology, Carla strongly believes in furthering the way these solutions are addressing the digital health revolution across the entire health continuum – from healthy living and prevention, precision diagnosis and personalized treatment, through to care in the home. She is dedicated to empowering patients to get involved in their own health in order to improve outcomes and positively transform care.


Carla graduated from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland with a degree in business studies. She also holds a PhD in inter- and intra-organizational knowledge transfer from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland and the University of Tokyo in Japan. Before assuming her current roles, Carla was CEO of Philips Deutschland GmbH and Chairman of Philips DACH. Carla has previously held positions with ABB Daimler Benz (Adtranz) in New Delhi, Boston Consulting Group in Hamburg and London, Dräger, and Linde AG. At Linde AG, she evolved from the strategic M&A leader to CEO of the Global Homecare business, then COO of all Healthcare activities, ultimately being named Head of Linde Healthcare Europe where she was awarded the “Entrepreneur of the Year” Award by the German newspaper Handelsblatt.


She is a member of the Young Presidents Association, vice chairman of the Supervisory Board of Zeiss Meditec AG, and vice chairman of the Supervisory Board of Save the Children, Germany, which focuses on children’s rights, health, education and emergency relief. She has also won leadership awards including the Health Data Management Most Powerful Women in Healthcare IT award and a Stevie Award for Women in Business. She is married with three children.
