Shez Partovi

Shez Partovi is Chief AI Officer and Business Leader of Enterprise Informatics, and a member of the Royal Philips Executive Committee. He joined Philips in 2021 as Chief Innovation Officer, leading the company’s global Innovation & Design organization and helping foster enterprise-wide, people- and patient-centric innovation.

An experienced clinical professor, neuroradiologist, global executive and entrepreneur, Shez has led large health systems, cloud transformation, and artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives across healthcare, life sciences and genomics.

As Chief AI Officer, he leads Philips’ AI agenda, guiding Philips’ transformation into a people-led, AI-powered company. His remit includes how AI is embedded across healthcare and self-care, strategic AI partnerships, cross-business opportunities and AI-enabled productivity. His focus is on translating AI’s potential into greater value for patients, customers and Philips – helping the company deliver better, leaner and faster.

Shez also leads the Enterprise Informatics business at Philips. Established in 2023, the business combines Philips software and hardware solutions to empower healthcare leaders and care providers with the actionable insights they need to make informed decisions, optimize workflows and operations, and deliver high-quality care to improve patient outcomes. Together with his teams, Shez advances Philips’ role as a world leader and trusted partner in integrated diagnostics. 

Before joining Philips, Shez was Worldwide Head of Business Development for Healthcare, Life Sciences and Medical Devices at Amazon Web Services (AWS). There, he led the global AWS go-to-market strategy, and helped customers navigate cloud transformation and adopt AI and machine learning.

Prior to joining AWS, Shez spent 20 years at Dignity Health, the fifth largest health system in the US. He started his career in 1998 as a neuroradiologist at the Barrow Neurological Institute and was in clinical practice until 2013. In addition to his medical training at McGill University in Montreal, he has post-graduate qualifications in computer science. 

Shez has a passion for learning and teaching. He helped launch the Biomedical Informatics Department at Arizona State University and taught there as a clinical professor for three years.
